Become a Challenge Leader - Action Against Hunger

Become a Challenge Leader

Do you want to be a part of the generation that ends child hunger, by leading a team of ambitious and adventurous students?

We are currently looking for Challenge Leaders within your campus.  This is an amazing volunteering opportunity which allows you to develop essential skills for your future, undertake the iconic Machu Picchu Trek, the magnificent Morocco Trek or the bustling Budapest Marathon - all the while fundraising for Action Against Hunger’s work around the world. Whether it’s an adventure in the Andes or the Atlas Mountains or an endurance challenge in beautifully bohemian Budapest, this is your chance to stand out from the crowd and lead a team on the experience of a lifetime.

What's involved?

•    Promoting the Machu Picchu Trek, Morocco Trek or the Budapest Marathon on campus: making students aware of the chance to take part in an incredible adventure for Action Against Hunger.
•    Building your team: motivating interested students and friends to join your team for the challenge.
•    Inspiring your team: supporting them in their fundraising and training efforts as individuals and as a group.
•    Leading on the Challenge: following a full briefing from the challenge organisers, acting as the key link between your team and the adventure guides.

What’s in it for you?

•    Up to 80% off your fundraising target! The bigger and more successful your team, the more your fundraising target for your challenge drops, giving you a chance to travel to some of the world’s most exciting destinations for a fraction of the normal cost.
•    Stand-out CV: Show your future employers you went to University and did something different; you had an impact and can lead from the front.
•    The chance to tackle the challenge of a lifetime whilst making a real difference to children and families struggling with malnutrition around the world.

What skills and qualities do I need to succeed?

•    Confident: striking up a conversation does not strike fear in you and you’re able to speak to a group of people you might not have met before without panicking!
•    Outgoing: we don’t just want people that are up for a challenge, but people who’d love one! From the physical test of the challenge itself to the ability to recruit and manage a team of peers this role requires someone who’s not afraid to step out of their comfort zone.
•    A leader: instead of following someone else’s lead you’re leading the way and inspiring others to follow you.
•    Career focussed: the party has to end sometime and having an eye on developing your skills and a strong CV for your future career when you graduate is important to you.
