Too Many Critics Manchester

In association with Northern Restaurant and Bar Too Many Critics Manchester 2015 was held at newly opened Hawksmoor in Spinningfields. 

This year’s host was BBC food and wine presenter Nigel Barden, who also conducted the live auction. Both national and regional food critics put their skills to the test, including Tim Hayward (Financial Times), Andy Cronshaw (Manchester Evening News), Mark “Gordo” Garner (Manchester Confidential), Ruth Allan (Taste of Manchester) and Janine Ratcliffe (Olive Magazine). Chefs judging the critics included Paul Askew (The Art School Restaurant), Frances Atkins (The Yorke Arms), Mary-Ellen McTague, Aiden Byrne (Manchester House) and Stosie Madi (Parkers Arms).

This year, as if cooking for a room full of the UK’s top chefs and restauranteurs wasn’t enough, critics Ruth Allan and Mark ‘Gordo’ Garner were put through their paces learning how to butcher meat to exacting standards at Ginger Pig. Watch the video here:

Too Many Critics Manchester was held at the award-winning and renowned steak house Hawksmoor at their brand new location in the heart of Manchester. This establishment is their first venture outside of London, and brings to the north their trademark dictionary-thick steaks.
